--header "Authorization: Bearer access_token_hide" \
--header "Dropbox-API-Select-User: dbmid:xxxxxxx_hide" \
--header "Content-Type: application/json" \
--data "{\"custom_message\":\"Documentation for launch day\",\"members\":[{\"access_level\":\"editor\",\"member\":{\".tag\":\"dropbox_id\",\"dropbox_id\":\"g:c858e6f315e1cbf00000000000000299\"}}],\"quiet\":false,\"shared_folder_id\":\"11933718145\"}"
response: {"error_summary": "access_error/not_a_member/", "error": {".tag": "access_error", "access_error": {".tag": "not_a_member"}}, "user_message": {"locale": "en", "text": "You aren\u2019t a member of this shared folder."}}
Hello cas_rds
Thank you for raising this case on our Dropbox Community Forum. Based on the cURL command example you provided, it appears that you are encountering the error message, “You aren’t a member of this shared folder,” because you are using the "Dropbox-API-Select-User" HTTP header to execute the endpoint on a team folder with no members.
To resolve this issue, please use the "Dropbox-API-Select-Admin" HTTP header when executing the endpoint. This will allow you to operate on behalf of the team administrator to add the group to the team folder. For further information, please refer to the following link:

Hello iNeil,
Thanks for your information!
In order to add all team menber of team space to the team folder, Is there a default group that contains all members? If so, what criteria do we use to distinguish this default group?
- iNeilDropbox Engineer
Hello cas_rds,
All Dropbox Business teams have a default group named “Everyone at [Your Team Name]” that is automatically created when the team account is set up. This group includes all current team members, and new members are added automatically as they join. For more information, please review the following link:
https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/groups
If you need to find the group_id of the “Everyone at [Your Team Name]” group, you can use the Dropbox API endpoints 2/team/groups/list and 2/team/groups/list/continue to list all groups in your team.
