Error downloading folder through web client
I'm trying to download a large folder through the web client. After I click download I'm prompted to save a small file called unspecified.htm, which saves and then nothing else happens. I'm sure I've used this feature successfully before. Any idea what's happening?
I've tried both download methods - click the folder and click download at the top, and right click. I can download individual files successfully.
Tried Mozilla Firefox & Chrome, Windows 10.
You cannot download over 1gb of data via the browser. You have to download the Dropbox "application".

You really need to fix this. I do not have administrative privileges on my work computer, and even if I did I don't want to link my work computer to my home computer via the app. I need to download files larger than 1GB on a regular basis.

You can download single files of any size. The limitation only applies when attempting to download an entire folder, which gets Zipped into a single file. It's this Zip process that has the 1GB limitation.

UPDATE:
I was able to download the files by removing ones which did not have the author's name next to the Modify date. If you are having trouble downloading less than 1GB and less than 1000 files, make sure they all have author names and/or try removing the ones that don't.
ORIGINAL POST:
As of today, I am no longer able to download any set of multiple files at a time. Even if I just select two image files (which combined are not over 1GB) it gives me the file type of "unspecified". Last week I downloaded an entire folder of images and now when I try to download that same folder, I get "unspecified", so I know it's not a case of the folder being over 1GB or more than 1000 files.
How do we get support on this issue? My client has shared thousands of product images with me and I made her use Dropbox instead of Google Drive (because I've always found it to work better). I can't ask her to go back and upload them all to Google now.

Dropbox aren't interested in resolving this issue, unfortunately!

Was this ever solved?
I had to selectively unsync a folder that someone sent me because it's huge. It won't fit on my boot SSD. I want to download it to an external drive. I cant sync everything to an external drive because I want my other dropbox files on my boot drive, not to mention the other drive isn't on 24/7.
I don't have time to spend manually downloading tons of clips.
Why did this work in the past and not now, I swear I've downloaded big folders before.
If there isn't a solution I'll be switching to something else for sure.

seems like dropbox do nt need users. now I can donload folders that contain only less then 700mb (plz note i am talking about files.. this is not one file 700... now it is folder bigger then this size not loading). or 15 files per download. for folders with +100 files if is stupid now to use thisservice or recomend as I did before. now I will totally recomend Cubby or Mega nz as the prev comenter did, thanks by the way!
