Solved

I can no longer open one of my shared Excel files.

I have a shared excel file that I no longer have the option to open in excel or excel for the web.  It used to have the green excel icon next to it but now it looks like a gray file box with a up arrow. Not sure what's going on.

Did the file get renamed to remove the file extension? Does it still have .xlsx at the end of the file? If not, neither Dropbox nor your computer will know how to open it.

Thank you Rich! It was the extension got changed by one of the shared users.  I was able to recover a previous version and open.

Thanks for posting on the Community, aprile.

Can you send me a full screenshot of what you see exactly on your end?

Also, if I get this right, you’re unable to open your Excel file both on www.dropbox.com and locally via the Dropbox desktop app, correct?

Keep me posted for more updates.
