I can't download a 'limited' folder

I need to download a folder to a new Mac, but it is marked "Limited" and will not open in the Admin console.

Hi moranpro5, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

When you say download, do you mean a direct download from the site, or when trying to sync that folder to your computer via the Dropbox desktop application?

Regarding the folder, could you copy and past a screenshot showing us what you're seeing on the site?

This will help me to assist further!

About a month ago, I uploaded some important folders to my Dropbox. My MacBook Pro and external drives were stolen a couple of days ago and I need to download those folders to a new Mac. When I navigate to the "parent" folder, it is marked "Limited" and can only be opened from the Admin page but, when I try to open it from there, nothing happens.

Just got it to open. Sadly, my uploads from a month ago are absent.

I'm sorry to hear that the files are missing and for your situation.

Do those files appear on the events page, or the deleted files page?

I am not familiar with either of those.

On another note, is there any way to tell:

On what date a folder or file was uploaded?

The size of an uploaded folder or file?

    Thanks again.

Hey moranpro5, sorry to jump in, but I just wanted to mention that this kind of information could be found on the events page for folders while for files you could also check their version history.

For files or folders you've currently stored in your Dropbox, you can follow these steps to check their size.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for that! I had been frustrated that there did not seem to be a way to check size and upload date(s).

No worries moranpro5  - I'm glad this helped.
