New redesign making it "Easier"?!?!?

Why, why, why?

 

I used to open dropbox's home page and simply click on the files that use almost daily.  It would open the file in Excel for Windows.  Now, with their wonderful "easier" way I have to click on the small three dots, then select "open in" and then select excel.  How exactly is this easier?  One click on a big icon, versus clicking on a small icon and then running through the maze to be able to open a file.
