Offline files not downloading. They show a yellow triangle and a message "failed to download".
The company I work for uses Dropbox. There is a shared folder with several
members. I’m trying to save the folder’s files for offline access on my
tablet. At first this worked normally, and whenever I connected to Wi‑Fi
they would sync immediately. However, for the past few days I’ve been
encountering the following problem: a yellow triangle appears on the right
side, and the app shows a notification saying “Failed to download offline
files. Check your connection,” even though I am properly connected to the
Internet. Then, as soon as I refresh, the files disappear and the folder
shows up either empty or with only some of the files—which, oddly enough, do
download successfully. The strange thing is that this only happens with
certain files, which of course worked fine before. I should also mention
that the problem is temporarily solved if I completely uninstall the app and
set everything up again, but it reappears after a few days.
I’ve searched all the forums and haven’t found an answer… Any suggestions
are welcome. Thank you in advance.

Hey Perifanosf, so sorry for the late reply here!
It seems your latest message never showed up on our system. 😪 Do you still face the same issue?
If so, can I then send you an email in order for us to have a closer look into this?

I see, thanks for clarifying that! Is it possible to test this by connecting to another WiFi network temporarily? Are you currently connected to your home network, or a corporate one?
Also, do any of the other folder members encounter any similar issues?

Hello Nancy ! No, yellow questionmark is not "tappable".
I saw the steps, but unfortunately there is not a Toggle for Use data for offline files (Android) as my tablet does not have Cellular data. It's a wifi only model. - Nancy24 days ago

Hey Perifanosf! Just to clarify, do you get the “failed to download” error, after tapping on the yellow question mark icon next to the files you want to make offline?
Also, as a test, I’d like you to follow these steps and let me know if you’re still having an issue after that.

Hey Megan , some files are a few KB others are at most 50MB.
This happen only with files in a shared folder, but please note that there is not a newer version of the files.
I have tried what you suggested.
Solves the problem for a few days, and then, problem appears again... - Megan25 days ago

Hey Perifanosf, thanks for the heads up!
How large are the files you're trying to offline?
Also, does this only happen with shared files or files in a shared folder? I'm asking because the yellow exclamation point means that a newer version of your content is available.
Have you tried clearing the cache on your tablet, before uninstalling the app, rebooting the device, and re-installing it to see if this helps?

Hey Perifanosf, welcome to our Community!
Odd indeed. Let's see what we can find about this together.
Would you mind clarifying your exact OS, please?
When did this behavior first start? If you could send along some screenshots of the triangle, and the error message you get, they'd be most helpful in order for me to also visualize what you mentioned.
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!
