Solved

The filenames of a folder that another user shared with me appear truncated.

When I go to a folder that some one shares with me it gives me a list where the file names are cut off.  I end up having to either download the whole thing or look through files one by one to tell if it's a certain file extension or another.

There is enough room on the page where the full file name should be able to display or I should be able to resize the columns to show the file name.

It seems unnecessarily formatted in a way that causes me regular confusion and frustration.

  • I found the issue. In the page styles, the table layout is set to "fixed." If I disable that, it looks normal. Perhaps the developers can remove that or override it for Windows 10.

Hey Jodi S.3! Can you also test this via another browser on your computer or an incognito window and tell me if you see a difference?

Were you able to see the full filename in shared links in the past?

I should have mentioned, I tried incognito and Firefox (I'm using Chrome on Windows 10). Just tried Edge as well. They all look the same.

I don't remember if I could see them before, it just happens to be a link I'm working with today and was annoyed that I couldn't find a way to read the whole title.

I probably normally work more with shared folders instead of links, in which they show up differently. However, I often send links myself so now I'm concerned this is also what my users are seeing which makes it very difficult to use.

I was on a desktop.  My issue seemed to be with the windows system having to be scaled to look at any text at a reasonable size. It it seemed like windows recommended it be 150% which I don't fully understand.  I'm normally a mac user and everything is fine there.

I tried changing the scaling to 100% and it didn't change anything. Also tried a different resolution and that didn't fix it either. I'll try a couple of different computers and see if there's any difference.

    I tried my husband's computer and it shows correctly - display is 1920 x 1080 at 125% / Windows 11

I tried another laptop with a 4k display set to 250% (recommended) and it shows truncated. The others (laptop and 27" monitor) I've already tested are also 4k set to their recommended scaling (250% and 150%, respectively). These are using Windows 10.

I tried setting to 1920 x 1200 at 100% and rebooting and that didn't help.
