.xls files not opening as a full .xls but instead more like a word.

Dropbox is getting more and more user unfriendly.  I never had an issue opening a file before the changes that happened Nov/Dec 23.  Now when I want to access a .xls file, it opens more like just a snapshot/word of it.  I then have to click another step to edit and even then it still does not open as an .xls!

    Hey L N., welcome to our Community. 

     

    If you're on the Dropbox website, have you chosen the option to open your files directly via Excel for the web (under "Default editing apps on this page)?

     

    Can you send me a screenshot of how this file appears on your end? If there's any personal info showing, feel free to remove it.

     

    I’d also like one more showing the option you click on to open your Excel file via Dropbox.
