Can't Access My Files - It seems Dropbox Created a New Account

I have a Dropbox account associated with my email that has 4.1 GB of data on it.  When I opened it on my computer using the same email, the account is completely empty.  I can only access the files from my phone now.  Clearly there is a new business model in place that puts profit above support because there is NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT available to me unless I pay for a different plan.  Why would I pay when they make files unavailable?  What happened to DROPBOX??  I used to love this resource!

Dropbox doesn't make your files unavailable if your account is active.

Are you certain that you've signed in to the same account? When you sign in on Dropbox.com with the same email address that you used to sign in on your computer, do you see your files?

Yes, it’s the same email address. I could probably sort out the issue if I could speak to someone. I believe I accessed the data via email and password previously but now it seems to be going through Google and seems like 2 different accounts, one with data and one without. I can’t login the old way anymore except through my phone.

So you almost certainly have 2 accounts then - one on your phone and one via Google on the web.

You need to log out of the one on the web and in to the one you use on your phone. Note that it isn't possible to have the same email with 2 accounts BUT Google is awkward in that any punctuation before the @ sign doesn't change the Google email account BUT would be seen on 99% of all other services as a separate email. So Mark.Mc@ and MarkMc@ would be 1 account at Google but 2 here. Same goes if you use gmail or @googlemail.com. Its 2 accounts here but 1 at Gmail.
