Can't update to the new shared workspace
Account can't be updated to the new shared workspace. Files are saved in Dropbox on my laptop, but they are not uploaded to the web version of Dropbox.
Specific error message "Can't sync Dropbox account" Your account can't be updated to the new XXX shared workspace. Some file are being used by other applications - Windows Explorer To sync your files, close all Windows Explored windows, and try again.
I closed all windows, but Dropbox still did not sync.

Hi Beth12, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
In general, if you're getting this message, then it means either Explorer, or any other app on your machine, is accessing your Dropbox folder and preventing the changes.
Could you try quitting any open application, aside from Dropbox, and any active processes in Task Manager.
Keep me updated with any progress!

We were struggling with the same issue. After trying several things, I ended up uninstalling dropbox from my PC, redownloading, and reinstalling. It seems to be working well.

Jay,
Thanks for the response. All windows were closed and I tried to sync. Now the detail message is: Could not rename your Dropbox folder.

Hi Beth12, thanks for writing back to us!
Have you tried to close all programs (including Dropbox this time) and then restart your device?
Just make sure that all programs are disabled during start up. That includes any antivirus, Firewall, etc. If you see an error after following these steps, feel free to attach a screenshot in your next response.

If your system folders e.g. desktop are synced with DropBox, then the system cannot update. I am struggling to get DropBox support team to understand the issue which is sad because it is straight forward. If your desktop is synced with DropBox then it is permanently open and in use so therefore the reorganising of DropBox cannot take place without breaking this link. Not sure if this is your problem, but that is the cause of mine despite not having a solution yet without uninstalling DropBox which I am not keen to do on a limited internet connection.
