Delete document results in an error: "your device doesn't have an app to display this type of file".

I'm trying to delete a document, but I can't because I get the message: your device doesn't have an app to display this type of file.

Anyone know how I can delete the file?

Hi Ruud3, welcome to our Community!

I'm assuming that you're trying to delete a document inside your Dropbox folder, locally on the device, right?

Have you tried using these steps, in order to delete the content online? If so, what is the results?

    Let me know more!

I get only the message: your device doesn't have an app to display this type of file.

    Hey Ruud3!

Would you mind walking me through the exact steps you follow on your end when receiving this message?

Also, please send me a screenshot of said message, in order for me to have a visual too.

    Steps:
    1. open Dropbox
    2. Press Start
    3. Press Recent
    4. select file GARMIN.DBX-external-drive

I don't see three points (dots) but the message "your device doesn't have an app to display this type of file. (In Dutch: Je apparaat heeft geen app om dit type bestand weer te geven.) "

Hope you don’t mind me jump in, Ruud3

So, if I get this right, you’re trying to remove the entire GARMIN.DBX-external-drive from your Dropbox account. Correct?

Can you go here once more (from a computer) and send me one more screenshot of what you see? I’ll be able to further investigate this way.

    Here are the screenshots:
    * There is no backup uio: Has the file already been deleted?
    * There is still a GARMIN folder. How can I remove it?

I see there’s a shortcut/link next to this folder that says “Nieuwe locatie”. Can you click there and send me one more screenshot of the next thing you’ll see?
