Deleting files to free up space

I deleted (I thought) ALL my files. I want to start fresh. But my Dropbox account says I still am using up almost all of my space. It says that all my storage is being used by backup files but I can't seem to get rid of those. How do I do that?

Hey hillrachel, thanks for using Dropbox and sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Have you taken a look at your backups page to see if you can delete the files from there to make up space?

    Keep me posted!
