Does not sync with my other computer. How do I delete the subordinate account?

Hi

I have 2 accounts with Dropbox, but only use one of them (2TB), the other account has just 50GB which is of no use to me. how do I delete the subordinate account and just use the other?

Cheers

Hi garsideandco, let's jump right into this!

Just to make sure we're on the same page, and that the next steps I'm going to be providing you are correct: do you wish to entirely delete the Dropbox account you no longer use, or do you wish to learn how to sync the 2TB account to your desktop app?

I'm asking because the title of your thread mentions syncing, so I want to make sure.

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

    Hi Megan

    Thank you for your email.

I have a desktop, an iPad and a laptop Surface Pro.

The username removed Dropbox account  syncs with my iPad and iPhone. But not with my surface pro?

I don’t need the [email removed as per Community Guidelines] Dropbox account and would be. Grateful if you could delete this, but transfer whatever information is on that account to the  [email removed as per Community Guidelines] account.

Then could you sync the surface pro to my desktop and iPad and iPhone?

    many thanks

    Hey Brian, I am here!

Keep in mind that we can't take any of those actions on our end, and you'd need to do it on your end, but I will happily guide you.

First step is access the account you want to delete. You can either download the content, and then upload them to your second account you want to keep, or share them there.

Once that is done, you can follow these steps in order to delete the account. Then, your next step is to sign out of  the devices that you want to change the account to, and sign into the wanted Dropbox account.

If you have any questions, let me know!

Can you give me some info in regards to the exact steps you followed garsideandco?

Did you download the content from the account, or maybe share them? What do you see when accessing your events page

The Events page gives you an overview of all activity in your account including files events (adds/edits/deletes).

Hi garsideandco, keep in mind that you shouldn't be posting your full name, email or any other personal info on a public forum, and especially here, since it's against our Guidelines

Now as for the files that seem to have been deleted, have you checked the account's deleted files page, or events page to see what you can find there?
