I cannot recall the year I first put photos on Dropbox. It was free when I used it the first time, then they wanted you to pay, I couldn’t afford to do that.
I went to my Dropbox account, all the pics I had loaded into Dropbox were gone.I was shocked, disappointed, and sad that all my photos were just gone.
I thought it was a good idea to use Dropbox to have a safe place to store my photos.i was wrong, Dropbox deleted my photos.

Hey there, Jane3, let's jump right into this!
Keep in mind that Dropbox won't delete any of your files without someone actually requesting for that.
How long has it been since you last accessed your Dropbox account?
Could you check your events page or deleted files page to see if the files are visible and recoverable on your account?
Let me know what you find there!

Hi Jane3, would you mind sharing some additional info with me?
Did you have any results when accessing the pages I provided above? Also, you mentioned when you began using Dropbox, however when was the last time you accessed your account?
Was that in 2018 too?

I’ve read many comments about how files and pictures have been deleted, without the consent of the owner.
All my pictures, I uploaded to Dropbox are gone, Dropbox deleted them, I didn’t know this happened until I went to see them.
Dropbox must be aware of this because so many have made posts concerning the same thing that happened to me.
I contacted Dropbox, but I don’t expect to ever see my photos again. - Jane32 years agoExplorer | Level 4
Yes, I started my Dropbox account on March 24, 2018.

Hi Jane3, when was the last time you logged into your account on the site? Was it over 12 months ago?
- Jane32 years agoExplorer | Level 4
No, I can’t remember when I logged in, I didn’t expect for my photos to all be deleted.
I have known about my photos for a while now. Since I heard about the offer from Dropbox, I thought it’d be a good time to ask for information on where my photos would be.
Also, I’ve read the complaints others have posted, that their photos were also deleted, so it’s not just me. - Megan2 years ago

Hi Jane3, if you checked the events page, and there's no info about your missing content there, it could mean a few things:
-That your files were never uploaded to Dropbox in the first place. That can usually happen if you're using our desktop app to add content.
-That you're looking at an brand-new account.
-Or that the files had been deleted a long time ago, therefore aren't recoverable.
You mentioned that you can't remember the last time you logged into your account. In this case, if it was more than 12 months ago, your account might have been deleted due to inactivity.
