Folders, subfolders and files disappeared!
Suddenly I have lost a number of folders, subfolders and all their contents from one folder in Dropbox. There are a couple of old documents remaining, ones I haven't used in years. I haven't deleted them, they aren't in the deleted folder. I've used them within the last 30 days, and when I try to open them for example by going to "recent documents" in excel it says the file has been deleted or is not accessible. I have tried searching Dropbox for the files in case they have been moved, but nothing is found. Total mystery. I've signed out and back in. I know I'm in the right account as the master folder is there along with all my other folders. It's just subfolders and contents within one folder that is affected, and as I say, one subfolder remains with some old content. I'm panicking!

Thanks for posting on the forum, vcc1! Let’s have a look into this.
First of all, can you please clarify if these files are shared with anyone else? Or did you only have access to them?
If you check your Events page, are you able to see any trace of them?
Let me know what you find.
- vcc13 years agoExplorer | Level 3Hello, thank you for your reply!
The folders are not shared with anyone.
They are not in the events either.
It is strange though as in the events are all the files I’ve been working on at work on my pc which shouldn’t be on Dropbox (we use sharepoint) and I see “PC” on the folders list which I haven’t noticed before. Could this be why my own files have disappeared? - Jay3 years ago

Hi vcc1, is it possible that you're enabled the computer backup feature? Are the files visible on the site?
