Haven't accessed my files in a long time, and now I can't find them.

i have not got onto dropbox for a long time. I got on and cannot find my files and cannot access useable help without a paid subscription. How is this not extortion?

Dropbox never prevents you from accessing the files in your account, even when you're over your limit. As long as you've kept your account active you can simply sign in to the Dropbox website to access your account and any files within it.

If your account has been idle (not signed in to) for more than a year, then the account would have been deleted due to inactivity and you're now signed in to a new, empty account.
