How can I easily delete duplicated files?

I have been using Dropbox quite some time now. Speaking of years.
I am sorting things and came to the conclusion I have many duplicates. How easy would it be if they can be detected and deleted. Can anyone help me with this?

Hi mmjl91, welcome to our Community!

I'm afraid you'd need to manually delete any duplicated files you have on your end, since there's no automated way to do that with Dropbox.

However, there might be some third-party apps that allow you to do that, but I can't officially suggest any of them. I'm going to leave this thread open, this way if any of our users knows more about that, they can suggest them your way.

    I hope this helps!

Thank you for answering me Megan! I have a MacBook maybe that’s important to know for any third-party apps that can delete duplicates.

Will this option be there in the future to delete duplicates with Dropbox itself?

Hi mmjl91, we don't have a timetable for this at the moment.

However, I will pass on your comments to the relevant departments so that we can further improve our product.

        Thanks!
