  • To permanently disable Dropbox backup from an external hard drive, you can follow these steps:

    1. Click on the Dropbox icon in the system tray or menu bar to open the Dropbox menu.
    2. Select your profile pic icon then select "Preferences" from the Dropbox menu.
    3. In the Preference window, go to the "Backups"
    4. Look for an option related to external hard drive backup or selective sync.
    5. Uncheck the checkbox or toggle the option to disable backup for the external hard drive.
    6. Save the changes and exit the Preferences window.
