Last versions of Word file with automated recording disappeared.
I’m working with my IPhone on a Word document stored in my Dropbox and the option “automated recording “ is on. This morning, after three days of work, the file open was a three days old version. No way to recover a more recent. The option Restore file only brings these old versions. Can you help me? It is a novel…

Hi PierreM13006, welcome to our Community!
Have you saved the Word file manually each time you changed something on it, or was it automatically saved?
If you check your events page, when do you see that this file was last edited? The Events page at www.dropbox.com/events gives you an overview of all activity in your account including files events (adds/edits/deletes).
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Until 20th of august, event list is mentioning that I modified this file each minute, which should be the automated recording. After this date, no more events until this morning… I didn’t close the file yesterday. I think I lost my connection tonight and this morning when I woke up the file wasn’t open anymore. I opened it from Dropbox and got this three days old file that has been automatically recorded. I’m writing a novel and they are about ten very laborious pages…

Hi PierreM13006, if you can't see anything in the events page, that means the file and changes weren't saved for some reason.
If they didn't update and sync our way, I'm afraid there's no way to recover the content.
If I were you, I'd also try my luck with Microsoft's support, just to see if there's a way for you to check for previous versions on a Word file on their end.

Do try, and let us know PierreM13006.
Hm, from my own experience I haven't noticed any temp files stored into the iPhone, but then again, they might be the best at responding to that.
