Missing customer list
Hi, this is our first time at contacting the community for support. Our Business files included a customer list, it has been removed from the list. The who and why is not known, they do not appear on the deleted option, it shows as empty. I have tried all the advice from the many help options with no luck in finding them. Our plan shows as a Dropbox Standard one. Any advice will be gratefully appreciated, we do not have a back up as to our customers at present, I can hear the groans, regards.

Hi there JayJONAU, sorry to hear about your missing file.
Can you have a look at your events page and let us know if you can find and sign of the file and restore it from there?
Thanks!

Is the file there and blank or totally missing?
If missing what is www.dropbox.com/events showing?
If blank can you roll back?
Or, was it a shared file lots of people had edit access to? If so has somebody removed access?

Hi Walter, the missing customer list is not present in the events list.

Hi Mark
The event page is not showing the missing customer list, there are quite a number of other files pdfs etc brought over by the search term events. None of these are the missing list.
I am not familiar with the term roll back, I assume that is an option to go back to an earlier date of our Dropbox account.

Hi again, Mark
The missing customer list was reported by the Business owner who is presently working on a project interstate, the customer he is working for exists in the customer list we are having the problem with. He made changes to reflect the day to day of this project, then realised that the other customers were missing. what he did as far as access etc is in the do not know square. I am the webmaster for this Business, it was redirected to me to try and find the missing list. Sorry for the not very helpful explanation to date.
The where we are, we do not know if access was removed.
We do not know what you mean by roll back.

I did send off a please help to the support team, no reply, no nothing.
Thank you for your help.

Did you get a ticket ID for your support interaction JayJONAU?
Also, what option specifically isn't working for you? Are you referring to the Rewind feature perhaps?
- JayJONAU2 years agoHelpful | Level 6
Hi Walter
No, there was no support ticket created.
The rewind option is what I was referring to, I followed the how to from one of the help sites on Google.
Using hover on the problem file was supposed to show a further option to enable the rewind method.
This did not show as expected.

Hi Mark
I will try and be more specific with our problem.
There are a couple pf people (Employees) with access to the Dropbox account in question.
The only person to have used Dropbox was the Business owner, Who is also the main electrician for the business.
He accessed the Customer Folder to make changes for the present customer he is working for.
He then viewed the list of Customers, the list had only one customer present.
He made his changes and then reported to me about the missing customer entries.
I have followed all the advice and suggestions from yourself as well as Walter.
Support have not responded to my ask for help.
Can you please provide and further help with finding these missing customer folders?
Regards JayJONAU
