Missing Files
I have multiple email accounts but am signed in to my browser with my work account. In Finder, my Dropbox has several files. I was trying to share a folder with a link but couldn't find a way to do it. Dropbox suggested going to .com and taking it from there. When I went on to the .com version, none of the files are there on any of the email accounts (even though they were there on Finder). On this community forum, there was a solution that if the Dropbox icon is missing, you should reload/download it. I did that and it said that there was already an app and that I should rename it, which I did. Now it is the new app in Finder and all my files are missing. Help!

Hey momajana, welcome to our forum.
Did you make sure that you’re seeing the same Dropbox account both on your web account and your desktop app? You can check this with these steps on both platforms.
Also, if you renamed the existing Dropbox folder, then it should still be somewhere on your computer, along with your Dropbox files. Did you search in your Finder, and you can’t locate it? Do you remember the name that you gave to the folder?
Finally, if you’re looking at the same Dropbox account on your computer and the web, you can check your Deleted files and Events page, but I can’t guarantee you’ll see much, if the files never synced there.
Let me know how this goes.
