No access to alias Backup files in MacOS after deleting dropbox of my mac.

I started using dropbox a year ago, but stopped after i notice there was a limit in space and it kept prompting to upgrade.

Recently, i just cleaned up my mac and deleted unused apps, Dropbox included.

Suprise! Since then, i don't have access to the three folders that were originally sync with dropbox (Desktop, Documents and Downloads)! I have alias file, and cannot open it neither access it. I tried reinstalling the Dropbox app, but it gives me old backup of my folders.

I find it very anoying that Dropbox are avoiding to give support by not providing a direct chat with an agent or number so i could call them. Now I'm stuck without access to my files and I have to wait till somebody in the community helps with my problem...

Hi Gabthejeech, let's jump right into this!

When you visit your Dropbox account online, are you able to find your content there?

Also, could you clarify if Backup is still enabled when you visit your Backups page online

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

    Hi!
No, it’s old content from 2022, from when i last use it.
And the « settings » option in the backup section is grayed out.

Hi Gabthejeech, could you attach a screenshot showing the greyed out option you're referring to?

Any updates to this? I did the exact same thing and have no access to critical files now.
