Shared Dropbox Fully Deleted

Hello, I'm on a team with a shared Dropbox, and tonight while one of us was using it, they suddenly couldn't access one of the main folders we use. They let us know, and we all checked and saw the folder was gone. Then slowly, each folder we had was deleted, starting with what we considered our most important, until finally the overall Dropbox was deleted. There is no activity in Events showing any deletions or file moves, there are no files in the deleted files section, and nobody in our group has access to links we had to files in the shared folders. If anyone has ever seen anything like this before, please let us know, we're just trying to get our files back, thanks.

    From your description, I understand you’re on a Business team, correct? 

     

    If you scroll down your Events page even more, do you see any other events perhaps, or is it completely empty?

     

    I’d also suggest having your team admin check the Activity log via their Admin Console, as well. Does it shed more light on what happened? 

     

    Let me know what you find, and we’ll take it from there.

    Hi Nancy, thanks for the response. The last thing in events before we saw the folders deleted was the last thing someone uploaded, no records of any deletions. The Activity Log was also empty, just showing that last file someone uploaded.

    However, the good news is after checking again this morning, everything has returned, and we’re very relieved to see nothing was deleted. Could this have been some sort of server issue or maintenance? It was really disconcerting to watch all our files disappear while we were using them, and not have any record of them being deleted. Is there a way to report a bug like this or check if Dropbox was doing anything behind the scenes?

    Hi dgrover, there was some maintenance made yesterday, did you see this change or after the times mentioned?
