Sharing folders

I am sharing a folder with a client and we, of course, have subfolders for different projects, I keep assuming that if we create a top level folder that subfolders will automatically be shared. is that not true? If she and I work on 10 different projects do I have to share every subfolder when I create them? Or is there some setting on the first one that would allow permissions to flow down?

  • No, as long as you share the parent folder all subfolders will automatically be shared with everybody 🙂

I am in a similar situation -- I have shared a parent folder that has multiple subfolders within it. The party with whom I have shared the parent folder can only view the contents of the subfolders but cannot upload any files to the subfolders. Are there settings/permissions I need to change?

How did you share the folder? Did you invite them to the folder, or did you send them a shared link to the folder? A shared link is a view-only method of sharing and the recipient wouldn't be able to upload or modify files within the folder. You need to invite them to the folder with Can edit rights in order to be able to upload files.

I did invite them via link... That's the issue, I guess. Thanks!
