Will it affect documents uploaded to dropbox folders, if delete the member?

One of our company's formal colleague uploaded some documents to the company's dropbox while her email was authorized access to those folders. However, her email is no longer valid since her left. Her email was renamed and assigned to a new colleague. I just wondering if we can remove the old email authorisation and add new colleague to the dropbox? But we can still see the old email takes some space of the dropbox from the account management page. I'm afraid we will delete those documents if we delete the old email.

Or do any one have better ideas?
