All folders on my dropbox are empty
Here is my situation.
Person A shared folders with Person B. Person B shared the same folders with me so I can view and edit/upload new files.
I signed up for dropbox on my laptop and downloaded dropbox app.
From my computers, it shows all of the folders (with green checkmark) but all of them are empty. I waited for days hoping it was due to sync problem but it didn't work.
Please advise what I need to do. If nothing works then is it possible for Person B and I use Person B's account simutaneously?
Thank you in advance.

Hey there, jsrealpro, let's jump right into this!
As a first step, can you clarify if you're able to see the files when you visit your account online?
If so, what is the app's current syncing status? As for logging into Person's B account, we don't suggest that people share credentials, due to security risks.
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Since I am a new user to dropbox.com, I will walk you through what I did:
1. go to dropbox.com via google chrome
2. click Shared on the left side
3. click on the folder that Person B shared with me
4. On the right side, it has "access this folder from your desktop", "import from google drive", "request files to be added to this folder", "share and manage access to this folder"
5. click "access this folder from your desktop
6. folder window pops up but there are no files
To answer your question, I cannot see any files online
Thank you for your help

Hi jsrealpro, thanks for clarifying!
If you can't see any files in this particular folder, when visiting your account online, that means it's empty. Is there a chance that they shared the wrong folder with you?
Could you ask them to re-share it with you, by any chance?

I have been receiving messages saying that my box is full - upgrade your storage.
I accessed my dropbox and deleted one large folder of files.
Now when I go into my dropbox I see my other folders that have been there but they are empty???
- I can't get any support to fix this.
What should I look to do?
Thank You

Sorry to hear about this, TW_10.
Have you searched your deleted files page and your events page, to see if you can find the files?
- TW_102 years agoExplorer | Level 3
Hello,
Yes I did. Both locations show me the files that I did delete. But I do not know why the other folders are empty.
I have no data in the dropbox. I went from over the limit to nothing,,,,
Do I need to upgrade my plan to see the files that were there??

Hey TW_10. Upgrading your Dropbox account wouldn’t help with this, so let’s check what happened.
When was the last time you were able to see all of your missing files within those folders on the Dropbox website?

Hi,
My files were there Jan 13th.
On the same day I deleted one folder with data in it that I did not need.
Since then, I can not see anything in my existing folder. It says they are empty.
The other thing I did was disconnected old PCs from the DropBox connection. (I think I can only have 3 connected at one time).
Does this have anything to do with it??
-Thanks,

Can you describe the steps you took to disconnect those devices?

I removed it under the security tab:
These devices are linked to your personal Dropbox account.
I clicked the option to remove.
