Android Scanner Creating Pixelated PDFs
I have been using the scanner feature on my Android device to create PDF documents for quite a while. After a recent update, the scanner is creating distorted files with pixelation when I use the Black and White scan setting. I have viewed the documents on other devices in other apps and the problem is the file that the Dropbox scanner creates. I have tried other scanning apps on the device and the scans are fine. Has anyone else observed this problem? If so, is there a solution?

Hey Phil W.9, thanks for the nudge here and sorry to see you're having trouble scanning your files with the Dropbox app.
Have you tried clearing the Dropbox app's cache from the settings, to see if that helps?

Nothing I have tried has fixed this pixel distortion issue. Even trying to revert back to an old version of the app does not fix it.
Is there an official fix yet?

Sorry to see you're having this issue JustinBelshire.
Can you let us know what kind of troubleshooting steps you've tried so far?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app at all?
- sashk03 years agoHelpful | Level 5Dear Dropbox support team, this issue persists and can't be resolved by reseting the app or clearing cache.
It is really irritating and has been on your side for month already, so I would like to see the bug ticket # you've risen for your developers team to solve it. Not senseless answers.
I doubt that ticket even exist and they are aware of this bug.
Thank you! - Nicolas_Laszlo3 years agoHelpful | Level 5
Hi, I'm experiencing the same issue for 2 months, have opened a ticket that has been prematurely closed by support team which invited me to stop using PDF format as it has always been like this (meaning, no change from our side, PDF file always has been with poor quality - that is false regarding several previous scan I have and I sent to support team but you know.. bad faith... it is just so frustrating to face it) 🙄
I'm using PDF format to scan every administrative documents my family has and this format is so common I can't imagine stop using it because of internal Dropbox problems.
As another person there, I'm using for nearly ten years thoses products but if nothing is done in next months, I will change my storage solution. Too much other solutions on the market. Do not forget it.

Wow!! It's 11 months later and I still have the same issue.
Absolutely unusable.
I scanned through all related forum messages I could find and every message from the dropbox staff has been the same!
Asking for reinstalls (none of them seem to solve the issue) or emptying caches (doesn't work either). How can this take so long to solve?
Very disappointed. I need the scan feature to work properly! Have been a pro client for probably 10 years but this is more than disappointing!

Hi there, smartdrops, I'd be happy to look into this for you!
Would you mind clarifying the OS you're currently using, along with the Dropbox version you have installed there?
I just want to make sure you're using our latest version.
If you also have some screenshots of how the files look like on your end, they're definitely welcome!
Thanks a bunch!
