Changes on third-party app not syncing between three Linux distros

I have three linux distros installed on my desktop. They all have Gnucash and Dropbox. They are all connected to the same Dropbox account. I made a change in Gnucash on one of the distros and then later switched to the other two distros. The changes that I made in the one doesn't show up in the Gnucash on the other two distros. All three distros have the same version of Gnucash (5.10). What do I need to do further to solve this problem?

Hey J Harold W., thanks for reaching out to us again.

If I understand correctly, you're trying to edit files through a certain third-party app on all distros, but the changes aren't syncing across all distros.

Just to check, do you have all the requirements for the Dropbox app to work correctly on your OS?

Are you having this issue with other types of files?

Is the Dropbox app "up to date" on all of them?

Let me know and we'll go from there.

I have found the problem. Distro #1 has a different version (214.4.5217) of Dropbox than distro #2 and #3 (215.4.7202). I have tried to install a newer version of Dropbox on #1 but it didn't work. I installed from the command line but it was the same version that was already installed. I will replace #1 with another distro. Thanks for the help.

Hey J Harold W., I'd also suggest the same thing.

We can't officially troubleshoot and see what might be causing it, if it's not an official Distro. I'd recommend trying out some Linux commands on the site to see if they help at all, or trying a different Distro.

After looking, I am not knowledgeable enough to compile from source. So I will keep tinkering with my installs and see if I can get it to working.

My Dropbox folder is located on my home partition. Does it have to be located directly under /? And I don't have a team. It is just me on my home computer.
