Dropbox desktop app on Mac not syncing 1.8 GB worth of data.
Hello,
I’ve been a Dropbox user for many years and have always been very satisfied with your service. However, for the past few days my Dropbox app on macOS has been stuck syncing around 1.8 GB of data (approximately 2,900 files).
I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app twice, but the problem persists—and indeed seems to have worsened, as now the entire Dropbox folder is syncing extremely slowly. New files aren’t uploading at all.
For reference, I’m using a MacBook Pro (2017) running macOS Big Sur (version 11.7.10).
Could you please advise on any further steps I can take to resolve this? I’m happy to provide additional details if that would help.
Thank you very much for your assistance.

In this case, can I send you an email in order for us to have a closer look into this fooosco?

Indexing is over, but the problem seems to persist. Now it is stuck uploading 246 files and downloading 2328 files...
The same hundreds of files which are not existing on my hard drive appears again on top of syncing list

Hello Megan,
I've signed out and logged in again — it's now indexing. I'll let you know when it's over.
As for the app's bandwidth limit, it was already set up without any restrictions.

Let's try a couple of things, to see if they're going to remedy this fooosco.
Can you try temporarily signing out of the app, and then back in?
After that, I'd also suggest that you adjust the app's bandwidth limit to "Don't Limit" to allow Dropbox to use as much as possible. That should hopefully make the app sync faster.
I'll be waiting for your updates!

Another thing I just noticed while hovering over the Dropbox icon: the syncing speed is abysmally slow — around 33 KB/sec... (this data doesn't always show up). I guess that's the reason of the stuck syncing

I've just updated to that build, and it looks like it's behaving the same way...

The indexing is not reported anymore, uploading is 459, while downloading is still 2463.
I am not sure how to calculate or estimate the amount of files.
I'll try and update to the latest stable build

Hey fooosco, thanks for the info!
Can you also try downloading and updating to our latest stable build (222.4.5042)?
Do these indexing, uploading and downloading numbers remain stuck, or not?
Do you happen to have a rough estimate of the amount of files in your Dropbox folder? Could they be more than 300K, which is the soft limit of our app?
