My desktop app's stuck indexing files after rebooting my computer.
I had to reboot my computer and since I have restarted it, my files will not sync. Status shows either a red X or pending. I have tried to log out and log back in, reinstall the desktop to no avail. Last night, it said it was 'indexing' the files but this morning nothing changed. I restarted and shows it's indexing again. Not sure why my files will not sync?? This is for work so really starting to put me behind.

Hi Nancy,
I am checking to see if I can still use this thread? Still having issues with syncing my files.

I’m sorry to hear that, czathey! Is the Dropbox app still trying to index your files? If yes, how many are they at the moment?

So here is what it's saying: Indexing: 24 files. Uploading: 127,100. Downloading 897,409 as of this morning. I tried to uncheck some of my case files and perform selective sync so it wasn't as much to download. Tried logging out and logging back in. Not sure if I made it worse by trying these solutions as well.

The indexing is up to 11,000 files now... uploading at 124,905 and downloading 877,444... it just seems like its stuck on this endless sync loop...

Nancy, my boss had a similar issue a while ago. He was told to uninstall and then reinstall Dropbox. Is that what I should do and if so, could you walk me through it...

Before trying that, can you please right-click on your local Dropbox folder, go to its “Properties” and send me a screenshot of the next window that will appear on your screen?
I want to see how many files are currently located in the folder before taking any other actions.

Hi Nancy,
I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling last night. Unchecked some files I don't use. And this morning it says Dropbox Up to Date and my files are there. I am cautiously optimistic that worked!
