Sharing: Failed to load sharing screen, could not retrieve sharing information
When I try share any folder I get this error pop up as soon as click on share or invite to folder.
I have tried on the dropbox mobile app, on may Macbook and on desktop Mac. Tried in both Chrome and Safari.....
No matter what I cannot share any folder this morning. This was working last night with no issues.

- Rodger P2 years agoExplorer | Level 3I am on my mobile. Struggling to find the camera icon… I am typing in the content box but I only see the thumbs up and likes counter above the box.
I tried clearing the cache and also reinstalling with no success. - Nancy2 years ago

Thanks for giving this a go! Sorry to hear it didn’t work.
As for the screenshot, can you try uploading it via your desktop instead?
Let me know, if you still can’t see the option from there.

HI there Rodger P - sorry to jump in here, but could you let us know if you're getting the same error when you access your account from a web browser?
Have you tried clearing the app's cache and/or signing out and back in since you first noticed this?

Yes I have tried both both desktop and mobile with the same results. Cleared cache, different browsers. Mobile is where I need for it to work.

Hi Rodger P, just a clarification: do you get this error when trying to share a folder, or when you try to access a shared folder?
- skreidle2 years agoExplorer | Level 4I know others have had the same issues, but I haven’t seen any resolutions. When I try to share a folder, as soon as I tap “Invite to folder”, I get a popup stating “Failed to load sharing screen / Could not retrieve sharing information.” Also, if I tap “Folder settings”, I get a popup stating “Failed to load setting screen / Could not retrieve settings information.” This occurs in the Dropbox app on my iPhone 13 (iOS 17.1.2), as well as in Chrome and Firefox on the same phone. (I can’t access Dropbox from my company-issue laptop.)
I can generate a share link and send it to my wife’s iPhone 14, but the share doesn’t work when she selects Join. - Megan2 years ago

Hey there, skreidle, thanks for posting here!
If you have some screenshots, they'd definitely be more than welcome.
Have you tried clearing the app's cache and/or signing out and back in since you first noticed this?
I've also merged you into this relevant thread, where others have experienced the same issue. Can you try some of the troubleshooting steps mentioned here, and let me know more?
Keep us posted!
- Rodger P2 years agoExplorer | Level 3When trying to share from mobile. Tried using iOS 17.2.1 on iPad and iPhone. Cleared caches, tried edge, safari, and chrome, tried uninstalling and reinstalling app. What else is suggested?

Hey Rodger P, thanks for the additional info.
Which version of the app are you using? You can see the version by tapping on "account" and then on the gear icon.
