Adding local space by mounting extra drive inside Dropbox folder
Hi, I am using Dropbox on linux and it works OK. It is installed on my home drive /home/myname/Dropbox, as it should. Syncing to and from the cloud works fine.
My problem is that my home drive (/home/myname) is running out of space, so I mounted an extra drive inside the Dropbox directory on my home drive: /home/myname/Dropbox/Dropbox-extra. I can see this new folder in the listing in the cloud and on my local computer, but files or directories inside this new folder (i.e. /home/myname/Dropbox/Dropbox-extra/xxxx) are not syncing with the cloud (neither to or from the cloud).
How do I make this to work? If this doesn't work I need to replace my current drive for new one, although I have enough space with the "solution" I decribed above.
Any hints what I can do to make this work?

Problem solved for now, following solution option #2 above. I managed to swap the /home directory to a different disk/partition within the existing raid array. So I increased the available space from ~ 370GB to 500GB, which is sufficient for now. I also removed & reinstalled the Dropbox flatpack software which gives me the Dropbox software on my linux machine. Just to be sure...
It seems to work. The synchronozation with the cloud seems to work, but is slow or just working from time to time?I sometines think it doesn't synchronize.... I will check it from time to time.
I am good for now! Thanks for reading and trying to help me. - Rich30 days ago

Many thanks Rich for the quick reply!
The problems I have are:
1. I am aware of the need for a larger drive and I was just looking into how to replace the drive ( which are 2 disks in Raid 1) - this is not so straight forward, I noticed... I really need to do some more reading... This seems risky if it is not done exactly in the right way. But then there is an alternative solition:
2. I do have a larger partition to move the Dropbox dirrectory to, but how do I move the Dropbox directory? I have Dropbox installed on Rocky Linux9 (not Ubuntu or Fedore) using Flatpack. In this installation I cannot find, or do not have the Dropbox software which apparently has a function to move the Dropbox folder. Any idea how I can solve this? - Rich30 days ago

I'm not a Linux expert by any means, but I don't think this will work. Dropbox only syncs the files physically located within the local Dropbox folder. It doesn't follow symlinks, junctions or mount points.
The correct way to do this is to move the Dropbox folder to a larger drive, or replace your existing drive with a larger one.
