All Files Show ONLINE but computer space is not cleared.

Hello, is any one else having issue with dropbox listing all files to be "ONLINE ONLY" but computer storage is not being cleared. Huge issue on our end as the computer's capacity is 2TB and the files online (dropbox) are 2.12TB. The huge problem is, since the files are not online, my computer is maxed out and  it started to be in operational. All the folders have the "grey cloud" and list 0kb which means they are not taking any space but my storage drive says it only has a few GBs available. Please help here as we are a studio trying to wrap up some packaging items.

Thanks,

Fernando

I've experienced the same issue with Dropbox not clearing space even though files are marked "online only."
A quick fix would be to try clearing the Dropbox cache under Preferences > Sync, and then restart Dropbox. It’s also worth checking if your OS (macOS/Windows) is holding onto cached files locally.
By the way, if you’re working on a lot of packaging files, we faced a similar challenge during a CBD project. I ended up using https://cbdboxesus.com/.com for some of the storage management and it helped clear up space fast.
Hope that helps, and good luck wrapping up your project!

    Thanks for the updates fernandop!

Other than the folders, if you take a quick look into them, can you confirm that the files also have grey clouds?

Also, if you access your account settings online, is the option "Online-only files on Mac" on, or off? It should be set to on.

Hi Megan, here are the answers to the questions:

It sounds like you have your new files to sync as online-only. What about the actual files in your Dropbox folder?

Everything seems to be online (grey cloud). There is a couple of items that have green check mark but they are less than than  a few GBs (Less than 10).

What type of icons do they have, and how are they set to sync? Are they available offline, or online only?

Grey clouds like the screenshots attached. Everything is online only.

Feel free to send me a few screenshots of your Mac's Disk Utility app, in order to have a look at the files taking up space there.

Yeah take a look at the screenshots. Entire computer should be online only.

Hi fernandop, let's jump right into this!

I'd like some more clarification in regards to the device's OS, and the Dropbox version you're using there at the moment. Feel free to also let me know the app's syncing status

Also, do you have any relevant screenshots, showing that it's indeed these specific Dropbox related files that take up space on the device? If so, please attach the screenshots back to me.

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!
