Dropbox says I'm out of storage even after deleting many of my files

I deleted loads of photos, videos and files but dropbox still says I am out of storage space.

What's up with that? How can I fix it?

Hi there Susan P.11 - sorry to hear about this.

Could you clarify what's shown in your plan page in regards to your quota exactly?

This will help us assist further.

I see, thanks for the additional information Susan P.11

Do you see any folders that might be taking up this space on your homepage by any chance?

I have just experienced the same issue.  Same case facts, but I'm only at 8.78 GB

Then I believe Dropbox synced once.

Now it will not sync anymore with the error message occurs both times on my device, but no errors on my MS W10 machine??

I notice also about a year+ ago that after retiring another, my third syncs item a pc that We couldn't replace it on drbox

Hey M K.6, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

If your account is full, it would make sense that any devices linked to that account, would stop syncing.

I would suggest taking a look at your files online here and using these steps, to see which ones are taking up your space.

Also, can you please clarify the last part of your message?

But it is not full. I was given a message that it was and deleted about 250 MB. That's seem to work for 1 day and I did not add Any files. I have a basic Plan,  but was off Offered Additional amounts of storage For each new referral that I had provided.  That has continued to work fine.

In answer to your question I deleted 1 account Meaning 1 PC from from dropbox taking me to 2 devices and attempted to replace it with another and I've never been able to add that new PC to drop box.

Please provide a screenshot of your usage as shown on your Plan page. It should look like this:

How many devices are listed in the Devices section of your Security page? If it's 3 or more, you won't be able to link a new device if you're on the Basic plan.
