AirDrop broken on MacOS Ventura
I'm using MacOS Ventura and I can't receive files via AirDrop anymore.
My Downloads folder is inside my Dropbox as I'm using Dropbox Backup, so it is all inside the Cloud Library now. The Spotlight Search is broken and now also I can't receive airdropped files anymore. They are sending but afterwards they are just nowhere to be found on the hard-drive. It's quite the mess.
@DropboxTeam: It would be highly appreciated if you can expedite looking into resolving the issues on Ventura!
You'll need to access the preferences in the desktop app, click the Backup tab, and then Manage Backup. From there you can remove the Downloads folder from the backup.

This update makes absolutely no sense, who in their right mind would want to backup their entire computer on Dropbox?
Your suggestion to remove the backups helped, now it works! Thanks a million.

Hi, I've tried this and worked for just a week and now it's broken again... this is frustrating!

I am a user of MacOS Ventura 13.4. I have tried the Disable Dropbox method; restart the Dropbox app and the back up again per Walter's suggestion. Still the Airdrop won't work. Anyone else have any luck making Airdrop work. It's May 25th, 2023.

Hey tooontime, sorry to see you're having this issue.
Can you try again and this time, disable backup and during the process, choose to "Keep content in folders on this Mac".
Once the process is complete, restart your computer and then re-enable backup, if you want.
Let me know how that goes.

Thank You! Hannah! It works and i am happy with this.

I probably won't Backup my Entire Mac book or Download Folder under Dropbox again. It took a long time to disable the Mac Back up. I have 15 GB in this folder and i can manage this much storage in my hard drive. and will move some out of download to keep it clean and light. All of my document and files are in DB and GG Drive. the only thing in my HD is Download files.I will just move files around and drop them in DROPBOX like i normally do anyway; be selective.
Thank you.
a follow up question:
1. So it's the Dropbox Cloud Back up for Mac/download folder INSIDE DB cloud back-up is the issue. Why does it cause the problem now? I've used DB for years and been very happy, until i updated the NEW DB and DB moved the folder round.

Hi tooontime, as to why the issue is occurring now, we couldn't say for sure. I'm glad to hear, however, that Hannah was able to help assist you on this matter.
