Can view dropbox in web but cannot install in desktop

On windows 11, 64. After failing to update I had to uninstall Dropbox. Both the "quick" install and the offline-installer ask me (as administrator) to OK download, but then nothin happens, the desktop app is not installed. Tried it many times, always the same.

Any suggestions?

Jorge

Hey there jorgep - thanks for joining our Community and happy Monday!

Could you clarify if you installed the desktop app with admin privileges in the first place?

Also, did you try the offline installer from this page directly?

If you happen to be running an antivirus or firewall, you can temporarily disable them as well.

In any case, please keep us posted on your progress.

In both cases I used admin privileges, and yes, I tried installing from the web you mention after disabling the firewall.

Just to confirm, jorgep, are you getting any errors when trying to install the Dropbox app?

Can you try these steps for a more advanced reinstall of the app, to see if that helps?

The problem was that I had my old email hacked and the new email did not have adminisrator rights. After fixing that, I downloaded Dropbox but had to sync everything again... Thanks for your comments.

I see, thanks for keeping us updated, jorgep.

I'm glad that at least the issue was resolved, but if you need anything else, let us know.

    Have a great day!
