Cannot install Dropbox with Windows 11
Dropbox was installed before the upgrade to Windows 11. It has run completely fine but with the recent update to dropbox I was told I needed to update to the latest version in order to continue using Dropbox. However, despite my attempts to install the update it never starts.
I have since completely uninstalled Dropbox and downloaded the Full Off-line Installer for Dropbox which is having the same issue and will not start. I have tried compatibility mode, running as administrator. I get as far as UAC prompting me to approve running the app and then nothing. No error codes, no failure messages. Just nothing. I do not have an AV running besides built-in MS stuff and I have tried disabling all of that. Same results.
My machine has the following:
Windows 11 Home 64-bit
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
16GB RAM

No worries, Jon R.17, I just sent you an email, so we can look into this internally. Make sure to check it out when you have the time. - Jon R.174 years agoExplorer | Level 4
The Microsoft store only has a Dropbox (S) app, not the desktop version. This doesn't work for what I need. I replied to my email and still haven't heard anything.

I figured out the issue. I had to uninstall Boxifier and then the installer worked. Thank you for your help.

Hi jp22, welcome to our Community!
Do you get any specific errors when you try to start-up the desktop app? Can you give me some additional info as to what happens there?
Keep me posted!
- jp224 years agoNew member | Level 2No specific error. Installer finishes the installation, but I can’t open the app and there’s no icon on system tray. I already tried the advanced installation without success. Thanks

Hey jp22, sorry to hear this persists for you, even after the advanced reinstall.
Would it be OK if we reach out via email to have a further look internally?
- jp224 years agoNew member | Level 2Sure! Thanks
