Desktop app not syncing a certain folder

Hi,

I have a certain folder within my Dropbox which shows up fully online yet isn't showing in my Dropbox app at all.

I have tried, exit and reopen. Reinstalling dropbox, a restart as well. I have also checked firewall options.

Local app says everything is synced. Is there a reset function like onedrive?

I cannot figure out what the issue would be. The only thing in common is that the files are from another dropbox user, and shared with me. But I am even having issues with folders I own too. The app is showing recent deletions and changes elsewhere.

Tyank you

  • Hey there, Cliff-B, I hope you're doing well!

The first thing that popped in my head, was the name of the folder. Have you made sure that the folder name doesn't contain any invalid characters

Also, what about your selective sync settings? I'd check that too, just in case you've removed the folder that way.

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

    Hi Megan,

Thank you for your reply. It seems like it was an invalid character - namely a colon. Thank you for that, its good to know. The selective sync was all ticked so it was puzzling.
