Different options on desktop app: send to/send copy/save in Dropbox

Hi Dropbox community, 

 

when I right click on a file outside of the Dropbox folder, I get the following three options (i have to translate from german, so maybe the are named differently in english) from the top:

1. Send to Dropbox

2. Send copy (to Dropbox)

3. Save in Dropbox

Now my question: What happens if I choose "save in Dropbox"? Does this mean, the file will be backed up inside the Dropbox folder and kept updated, without moving it? If not, what exactly does it mean?
