3 years agoDid you open the file from Explorer directly, or via Excel itself?
Is the full folder and filepath shorter than 260 characters?

From Explorer. I’ve never had an issue before with long file names.

Long file name issues would come up with an error similar to yours, saying the file cannot be found, hence my question, since Excel has a shorter limit of 218 characters. Do other files further up the folderpath (such as in the main Dropbox folder itself) load normally?
What about if you try to open the file from Excel itself?

Hi Jay
I just tried with a new word doc. Opened word and entered some copy. Tried to save to Dropbox folder and got the same error message. Again, I was forced to save in my MS One Drive > Docs folder and then move to Dropbox.
I am thinking of switching the Dropbox location back to the C drive and see if that works ok.
I will also post in the MS community, see if anyone else has issues.
