Is there another way to protect a folder in my Dropbox account without Vault?
Since the disappearance of the Vault I have two folders sitting in my Dropbox that I do not want my children to have access to. They want to look through their family and holiday photos though, which...

I'm afraid that if your children have access to your Dropbox account and all your files, there's no way to protect those folders, at least through Dropbox.
You might want to look into some kind of third party app that might help you do so (if accessing your files through your local Dropbox folder). Perhaps another user can help you with that.

Thank you Hannah for this quick answer. I'm afraid I'll have to look for another place to store my pictures then. I'd hoped to be able to keep on using Dropbox as I'm used to it and the basic functions work perfectly for me. But it's not the end of the world, I'm testing Proton Drive at the moment and if that works well too, I'll just transfer my pictures.
