Moving on from MacOS 12.2 recommendations: just uninstall Dropbox?
Hi,
I'm running MacOS 12.2. I have been waiting for Dropbox to migrate my files to ~/Library/CloudStorage, and it still hasn't happened. I am tired of staying on an old and insecure OS waiting for Dropbox to complete their support of OS's that came out over a year ago.
I symlinked Desktop, Documents, and other directories into my Dropbox folder. I know this is not supported or recommended, and that's my own fault.
Here's my question: what is the best thing to do at this point? I am thinking to uninstall Dropbox and stop using it entirely. In that case all local files will remain, correct? All online-only files will have their local filesystem placeholders deleted, right?
TLDR: I need to upgrade from macOS 12.2, should I just uninstall Dropbox?

I'm running a recent version of Dropbox but it states I am not eligible for the updated FileProvider version at this time.

Hi paul20, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
As you've noted, in order to be eligible for the File Provider version of the Dropbox desktop application, you require Mac OS 12.5 on your device.
It wouldn't be possible to have it on an earlier version of Mac OS.
