One Dropbox account accessed from two PCs
I need to access my Dropbox storage account on two PCs. My "home" PC files are fully backed up on Dropbox, but this is only a few hundred GB out of a 2 TB paid plan. I am now trying to access and sometimes modify a few of these various files in my Dropbox account on my "work" PC and them re-sync them to Dropbox. These files are scattered across various folders and subfolders in my Dropbox account. I do not want all of the folders from Dropbox on my work PC hard drive, which cannot handle the load. But I think they are all there. This is made worse because the notation system that is supposed to indicate which folders have been download, sync'ed, etc., does not work on either PC. Furthermore, the published directions for fixing the icon-display system seems to require making changes to the Windows registry, which I am not equipped to do. And I am away from home for a few months. Can anyone help me out of this muddle? Thanks in advance.

Hi BobW2, thanks for messaging the Community!
Could you clarify what you mean by 'the notation system that is supposed to indicate which folders have been download, sync'ed, etc., does not work on either PC'?
Are you referring to the selective sync prompt in the Dropbox desktop application?
This will help me to assist further!
