Password
The password I use on the WEB does not work for the software on my computer
- Hi James F.26, the Dropbox password should allow symbols in it, so most likely there was another error with the saved password.
I'm glad to hear that resetting the password on the site helped you to login.

Make sure you're using the same email address (and password) that you're using to sign in on the web. As long as you're using the same credentials you should be able to sign in to the app.

On my Desktop when I click on the Dropbox icon I see the invitation to sign in which offers me Google, Apple or e-mail & password. I put in e-mail and password manually ( I am not offered password by Keychain). It is rejected.
If I go into the WEB sign-in I am offered the same invitation and when I put in my e-mail I am offered the password by Keychain and I get in.
What is happening.

The password that is saved in keychain is different to the one you are manually typing in.
The password in keychain is correct the other isnt.
You need to use Safari or iOS to get in to keychain and get the password out to put in to the software.

No, the password I am using manually is the same as the one in the keychain. I made sure of that before doing it.

It cannot be - if it was the same it would work on both.
Go to keychain and choose the copy/paste option.

The Setup Dropbox will not take a paste, I have to put the password in manually. Very strange. But I am sure it is correct. It is an Apple generated password with hyphens.

Sign in on the web and change your password to one you create yourself, then try that one in the app on your computer.

Thankyou. Changing the password has worked. Maybe it was the hyphens in the Apple generated password that caused the problem.

Password-protected document opens on all my synced computer dropboxes but not when I log in on web dropbox on computer or iPhone. Tried changing p/w but it still won't open via web. No sync errors, everything else works.
