Question about transition to File Provider on Mac

hi,

this may have already been asked, either here or the internet, but I could not find a clear answer.

If I transition to File Provider, will all my files need to be resynched from the cloud?  Or will they just be moved from the Dropbox folder on the same computer?

    Hi there boopboop - thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to our Community!

     

    There shouldn't be a full re-sync of your files when you migrate to the File Provider version of the desktop app, but the app will need to re-index your files as their file-paths will change during the migration.
