Using apps from my pc not Connect Apps
In a customers shared DropBox they have Autocad drawings. they have AutoCad installed on their desktops. When they try to open the drawings all but one user has to use the web version of AutoCad that is made available through the apps in DropBox. This takes several steps and it is slow. One user, however, gets the option of the desktop app which is a much faster experience. How can I fix this for all of the users?
Hi jbcbussoft, it sounds like that user is able to use the Open button on the Dropbox site.
This article details the requirements in order to have that function available, which would allow users to open any file on the app on their local machine.

Hi there jbcbussoft, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
At first, can you clarify if you're referring to a Dropbox for Business teams account or individual accounts instead?
Also, what would be the end goal here? Have all of the users you mentioned use the desktop app to edit their files instead of the website or something else perhaps?
Keep me posted and we'll take it from there.

DropBox for Business.
The desired outcome would be that all users have access to their local programs, not just the online versions. They aren't even listed when you click the dropdown to select an option to open a file except for one computer.

Hey jbcbussoft, sorry to jump in here.
Do all team members have the Dropbox desktop app installed on their computers?
- jbcbussoft2 years agoExplorer | Level 3As far as I know they do. I'm not on location so I can't look but I will find out.

Jay the article had the solution. The user that needed this functionality has two different logins. He was using one of them on the web and the other on the desktop app.
