Dropbox Excel file reverts to old information after saving.
My excel document when I close it and reopen it from drop box it reverts back to an old saved excel spread sheet and doesn't show my updated information?

Hey jfreed, let's jump right into this!
Do you notice this with all of your Excel files, or a particular one?
Also, would you mind clarifying which platform you're using when editing your Excel document?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!
- jfreed2 years agoExplorer | Level 3As of now only the child roster excel document seems to be having the issue.
Platform is Microsoft excel. - Megan2 years ago

Hey jfreed, can you walk me through the exact steps that you follow when this happens, and how you edit the content?
Also, do you use our mobile app, desktop app or website?
If you have any screenshots, they're more than welcome!

Sure, I use a laptop. So, if I close out of excel, I go to the file on my desktop or the file in shared files, open the file then I notice changes I have made were not saved. When I make changes, I hit save a little obsessively due to this happening before. It doesn't give me the option to autosave. If I keep the file open it works fine.

Thanks for the updates, jfreed! Can you also follow these steps? Does your version history show something more, or you don’t see the updated versions at all there?
Other than that, can you clarify what's the app version and syncing status of your Dropbox app at the moment?

I don't see my updated file at all, not in version history. My app is not opening?

Hey jfreed - sorry to jump in here, but it seems that you're working on files you've stored locally and are not syncing at the moment.
If you were working on files within your Dropbox folder and the desktop app is not working as you mentioned it's not opening, this might be the reason why you're not seeing your edits.
Have you tried rebooting your computer and quitting and relaunching the Dropbox desktop app since you first noticed this?

Ok, I will try that now. How do I prevent this from happening again?

I am still unable to open the dropbox app? Also, am I able to find my saved information?
