Can we get a purchase confirmation step for add-ons?

It would be wise to add at least one step to confirm any purchase.

I mistakenly clicked on a link which automatically purchased and billed to a credit card.  Rather than having to contact Dropbox, cancel and issue a refund, this would have been avoided by simply adding a purchase confirmation like most websites do

    Hello Hannah,

    Thanks for jumping in.
I do have a paid subscription but still, there should be some form of....eh it's ok, yes I do want to purchase this.

Any upgrade changes the amount that is billed on the credit card, therefore it should be more transparent.

    Take care

Hi there, d_poirier, I hope it's okay for me to jump in here!

I'm assuming that if you were prompted to purchase the Extended Version History add-on, you're already on a paid subscription, right?

If so, that's why the automatic purchase happened after you clicked on that link; because your billing info is already on file.

We did, however, pass your feedback about this along to our team, so thanks for letting us know.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out again!

    Hello Nancy,

I accessed my account via a Dropbox link that a colleague sent me.  He wanted to share a folder and when inside my account I accidentally hit a link that was offering this:  Options : 1 year Extended Version History

And boom it was done without me accepting or entering additional info.

    Hope it helps

Hey d_poirier! Thanks for posting here.

Can you send over a few more details on the link you clicked on? Did you perhaps upgrade your Dropbox account via your iTunes/Google Play account?

I’m asking because you need to manually enter your billing info into our system (on www.dropbox.com), in order to upgrade your Dropbox account to a paid subscription.

Let me know more details, and we’ll go from there.
