Subscription cancellation that I need to recover.
I had a business account I was trying to link with a client and that business account was somehow cancelled. I need to recover this as it has very important documents for my firm. Any chance I can get assistance with this issue?

Hi AS423, I hope you're doing well!
You mentioned that the Business account you used was cancelled. Is it safe to assume you're referring to the plan of the account, and that you were paying for a Team?
If so, then all the content would remain in the account, even after the cancellation. Please be aware that if your account is ever downgraded, Dropbox will not delete any of your files.
Do you wish to re-upgrade to the same plan you used? Feel free to clarify, and let me know if you're talking about something entirely different, or if the account was deleted entirely.
Keep me posted!

So it looks like what actually happened is when trying to add a client to our dropbox, it was somehow merged and our paid account was cancelled, with this cancellation our client then became the "admin". what we are wanting is to go back to the account being OURS and not the clients. Is there a way to return the old account back to our own subscription? If so what needs to be proved to move forward with this issue?
If we decide to just create a new account since we arent able to speak with anyone on the phone, is there a way to just transfer all documents from the old dropbox to the new account?

Hi AS423, did you invite the user to your account, or did they invite you? It sounds like they invited you to their team.
If you invited the user to join your Business plan, all that would ever happen would be them joining the Team, and becoming members there. And vice versa if they invited you.
When you join a Team with your account, your personal plan is indeed partially refunded, for the remaining time you had left, and downgraded since now you're part of said Business team.
However, it's not possible for the admin to change, unless the same admin -or one of the admins actually, since a team can have multiple- makes someone else an admin in their Team.
Provided this is a Business team we're talking about, then someone from that team should share the content with your new account, or you can ask them to invite you over, and make you an admin again.
I hope this clarifies!

This does help clarify, but how can we revert the account back to being our account? Do we need to unlink ourselves from the team we joined?

Is there a video or a template that can be sent to help guide me in assuring that I get the account back as us being admin?

Your admin should be the one to do this, and you can always check our Help Center for any type of article, and steps you need.
Here is the one you're looking for.

Hi Megan,
I'm trying to gain access to our account, using our password which has been changed numerous times, to collect our files and merge then over to a new dropbox account since regaining admin access seems to me almost impossible. Is there any assistance that be given on what to do next? We just need to get our files from the old account. Or can we please get a working phone number to get a live person on the phone to assist us.

All support options are at www.dropbox.com/support and depend upon your account payment type.
However, you've not actually said WHAT the issue is and why you cannot log in. The Team admin needs to have removed you from their team (within 7 days) and that then gives you access back. If they are still able to reset the password etc. they've not removed you from the Team.
