Receiving Emails for an Unrelated User
Hello:
I just received (and have received 2-3 times before) an email confirmation that certain files were uploaded to a certain folder. Neither the files nor the folder are mine, and based on the file and folder name, I can infer that the user's name is very close to mine (same first initial and same last name). I think perhaps that user has the same email as me?
I'm looking for advice how to get that sorted out, both to make sure nothing nefarious is going on but mostly so that the real user is getting his notifications appropriately. This seems to be an account-level issue so I posted here . . .
Thanks!
Hi JSattin
It isnt possible they have the same username as you - simply because it works on one email = one account here. BUT!
Are you a gmail user at all? Google has a clever, but annoying, feature that allows emails to be set up differently but all go to one place. For example J.Sattin and JSattin would go to the same mailbox, same as @gmail.com or @googlemail.com would. That could, in theory, then be 4 different accounts as they appear as diff emails BUT all delivered to your inbox.

Thank you; that's helpful. Yes, it's Gmail, and that is probably the issue.
